Man killed in collision on SB 5 Fwy in Arleta

ARLETA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Authorities say a man was killed in a collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the southbound 5 Freeway in Arleta early Monday.

The collision was reported near Osborne Street at 2:54 a.m., CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

All southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down and reopened around 5:30 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, the CHP said.
