LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A San Diego man accused of biting off the fingertip of another man was charged Tuesday with mayhem and two counts of battery.

Roberto Alcaraz Garnica, 25, was charged with a felony count of mayhem, one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury, and one misdemeanor count of battery.

Garnica is accused of pushing a woman at the Jay Z/Beyonce concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena Saturday night, then punching the woman's husband when confronted. In an ensuing fight, Garnica allegedly bit the husband's left index fingertip off.

Garnica faces eight years in prison if convicted as charged, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Garnica pleaded not guilty Tuesday afternoon. He was held on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 19 in Pasadena.
