Man shot, killed in Pico Rivera identified

PICO RIVERA, Calif. (KABC) -- An investigation in underway after a man was shot and killed in Pico Rivera early Sunday.

The shooting happened in the 9600 block of Par Place around midnight, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lt. Victor Lewandowski.

The man killed has been identified as 23-year-old Valente Casas of Pico Rivera, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Neighbors near the scene said a Halloween party was taking place before a fight broke out and gunshots were heard.

No description was immediately available for the accused shooter.
