Man shot, killed outside burger restaurant in Palmdale

PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A search is underway for whoever shot and killed a man outside a restaurant in Palmdale.

The shooting occurred in the 1800 block of East Palmdale Boulevard in the parking lot of Sky Burgers around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The events leading up to the shooting were unclear. Restaurant employees say he ordered food and was shot when he stepped outside.

There was no word on a suspect or a motive for the killing.

The victim was not identified. He was only described as a 41-year-old Lancaster resident.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
