Man shot to death in El Sereno residential neighborhood
EL SERENO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was killed after being shot at least six times in an El Sereno neighborhood early Tuesday morning. A search is underway for the suspect or suspects.
Police say the shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. near Ithaca Avenue and Haven Street in a residential area.
Investigators said someone called 911 after hearing six gunshots. The witness did not report hearing any arguments that would indicate what led up to the shooting.
The identity of the victim was not released. Police said he was in his late 20s.
No arrests have been made.
A description of the suspect or suspects was not immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
According to police, there are gangs in the neighborhood, but it remains unclear whether this shooting was gang related.
