Man stabbed in chest in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 25-year-old man was stabbed in Ventura Thursday evening.

Around 6:15 p.m., the Ventura resident walked into a Circle K in the 1000 block of Main Street. The man was holding his chest and told the clerk he had been stabbed.

The clerk called 911 and the man walked out into the parking lot. Authorities and paramedics arrived, treated the man's stab wound at the scene and then took him to a nearby hospital. The victim was in stable condition.

Officers canvassed the area, but could not locate a suspect and did not have any information on the person's identity. The investigation was ongoing.
