Man stabbed to death in Lakewood; suspect flees

LAKEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating the stabbing death of a man in Lakewood.

The crime happened at about 9 p.m. Friday night in the 21000 block of Violeta Avenue, according to an LASD press release.

Detectives learned two men were arguing before one stabbed the other numerous times in the upper torso.

The suspect fled on a bicycle heading north on Violeta Avenue, toward west Centralia Street, and out of view.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect description was not immediately released.
