Investigators believe there was some sort of confrontation between two individuals. It's unclear if the two men knew each other. Police do not believe the incident was gang related.

Following the altercation, the surviving victim, described as a man in his 30s, managed to make his way to the nearby Glendale Police Department and used a call box to ask for help.

The man, who was in his 40s, fit the description given by the surviving victim, police said. His identity was not immediately released.

The injured man was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.
