WINNETKA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man and woman were killed after being shot multiple times in a Winnetka apartment building, police said.

The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Oso Avenue and Keswick Street. Authorities were responding to a call of a domestic dispute when they began receiving calls for a shooting in the same area.

Los Angeles firefighters were the first to arrive on scene and pronounced the man and woman dead at the scene. Their ages and names were not released. The relationship of the pair was unclear.

The pair were found on the third floor of the apartment building. Authorities searched the building for the suspect, but no one was found.

Some residents said the neighborhood has changed drastically over the years as violent crimes have increased.

"It went from a safe, respectable neighborhood to what you're seeing today. It's scary. It's one of those that we're in fear of walking our dogs at night," resident Annette Bentley-Pintor said.

No suspect information was released. The investigation was ongoing.
