CANOGA PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- A mother suspected of abducting her twin children in Irvine was arrested Saturday.

Authorities located Shahrzad Talieh, 45, and her twin son and daughter at a friend's home in Canoga Park in the early morning hours.

Talieh and her estranged husband are in the process of divorce and share custody of the 8-year-old twins. On Thursday, Talieh picked up the children from Portola Springs Elementary School around 2:30 p.m. She did not have custody of the children on that day.

Authorities believe Talieh removed the children's passports from their father's home. Irvine police officers learned that on Friday, Talieh unsuccessfully tried to buy airline tickets out of Los Angeles International Airport to Copenhagen, Denmark.

Her car was also located in a parking structure at LAX and it was determined that she and the children had not boarded any flights, but had left the airport.

She and the twins were then found at the home in Canoga Park. The children were returned to their father unharmed.

Talieh was booked into Orange County Jail and faces charges of deprivation of custody of a child.
