2 dead, 2 critically hurt in East Hollywood shooting

EAST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police were searching for a gunman after multiple people were shot, two fatally, in East Hollywood Friday night, according to authorities.

The shooting happened at about 7:50 p.m. in the 500 block of Heliotrope Drive, according to the LAPD.

LAPD Media Relations officials confirmed two people were killed and two others were in critical condition.

Officers said the suspect fled the scene. He was described as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing all black clothing.

It was unclear whether the shooting was gang-related.
