Palm Desert couple busted for pot, honey oil operation

PALM DESERT, Calif. (KABC) -- Riverside County sheriff's deputies seized 100 grams of concentrated cannabis oil, hundreds of marijuana plants, several pounds of marijuana, $100,000 cash and illegal honey oil extraction equipment from a Palm Desert home.

A pair of alleged hash manufacturers were arrested after deputies discovered their marijuana-growing operation in Palm Desert Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014.

Assisted by deputies, investigators with the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at the home on Brentwood Way Wednesday.

Also discovered at the home were Pyrex containers, glass cylinders and approximately 40 cans of butane, which is highly flammable.

During the investigation, deputies discovered a second marijuana-growing operation in a house in the 2700 block of Julecrest Road in Yucca Valley. Approximately 900 marijuana plants were seized.

Michael Fundiller, 55, and Rubiela Fundiller, 39, of Palm Desert were arrested and booked into the Riverside County Jail on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and operating a clandestine lab.
