SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Three suspects were taken into custody following a police chase that ended in a crash in Santa Ana Friday.

Authorities say the pursuit of a stolen vehicle came to an end at Alpine Avenue and Parton Street. The suspects' vehicle crashed into an occupied police car and a wall.

Two male suspects were taken into custody, but the driver fled on foot. MacArthur Intermediate School was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

The third male suspect was found a short time later hiding in a trash can in the 3300 block of Woodland Place.

Police say the officer who was in the patrol vehicle that was hit was OK and did not need to be hospitalized.

The lockdown at MacArthur Intermediate School has been lifted.
