BOULDER, Colo. -- A Colorado woman didn't shirk her civic duties this weekend -- even while in the middle of giving birth to a new citizen.
Sosha Adelstein was due to have her first child on Election Day, but the baby couldn't wait.
The first-time mom started going into labor Friday. But before delivering the baby, Adelstein stopped at the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder's Office to drop off her ballot.
"We ran over there and kind of made it just in time, because like shortly after that I was like okay it's time, we got to get to the hospital," Adelstein told KMGH.
Adelstein gave birth to a little girl named Bella Rose. Her partner, Max Brandel, was with her when she went into labor and also made sure he voted.
