RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was arrested at Rancho Cucamonga library Tuesday for asking a 15-year-old minor to commit a sexual act in the library's bathroom.

At the Archibald Library off Archibald Avenue, 40-year-old Sean O'Farrell, of Rancho Cucamonga and Solana Beach, contacted the 15-year-old victim in the second floor bathroom around 5 p.m.

He asked the victim for his age and began asking sexual questions. He then offered to pay the victim for a sexual act, authorities said.

The victim refused and walked away. O'Farrell followed the victim out of the restroom to several different areas of the library. The teen became afraid and contacted library staff, who called Rancho Cucamonga police.

Authorities arrived, contacted O'Farrell inside the library and detained him. O'Farrell was interviewed and then arrested. He was booked into West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of contacting a minor to commit a sexual offense.

He was also found to be in possession of several different library cards and is suspected of committing similar crimes in other jurisdictions.
