DANA POINT, Calif. (KABC) -- Search and rescue teams ended their recovery efforts Sunday evening for a 60-year-old man who was last seen body surfing off Salt Creek Beach at Dana Point.

The swimmer, who was visiting from out of state, was reported missing Saturday at about 11:30 a.m. near Tower 2. Orange County lifeguards, Orange County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Coast guard coordinated the search along the coastline, which included sending divers.

"Due to the current ocean conditions, visibility is poor and has hampered underwater search efforts," Orange County lifeguards and sheriff's deputies released in a joint statement.

Teams will continue to search the water's surface from the ground and air over the next few days.

The swimmer was not being identified.
