'Selfie' couple wanted in connection with burglary
Santa Clarita deputies are looking for two people shown in a selfie after their photo showed up on one burglary victim's cloud account.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KABC) -- Santa Clarita deputies are looking for two people shown in a selfie after their photo showed up on one burglary victim's cloud account.

"Some of the stolen electronics uploaded photos that were taken on the stolen devices into the victim's cloud account. When the victim accessed her cloud account, these photos came of people that she had no idea who they were," Deputy Sheriff Josh Dubin said.

Authorities fall short of calling the man and woman in the photo suspects, but rather persons of interest, in the event that they were given or bought the stolen camera.

"I have not seen a case like this. But as social media progresses, as cloud accounts progresses, I would expect to see more crimes, more incidents like this," Dubin said.

Deputies said in addition to the electronics, the burglars made off with cash and jewelry.

Anyone with information about the two pictured in the selfie is asked to call authorities or LA Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
