Skateboarder critically injured by car in Orange

ORANGE, Calif. (KABC) -- A juvenile skateboarder is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Orange, police said.

The skateboarder was hit at Katella Avenue and Wanda Road around 2 p.m. by a car heading southbound, officials said. The driver stopped and remained at the scene.

The age and gender of the skateboarder, who was transported to a hospital in critical condition, was not released. Southbound Wanda from Santiago Boulevard to Katella was closed to traffic while investigators tried to determine what happened.
