Massachusetts woman goes to hospital for stomach pain, comes home with a baby

BEVERLY, MA -- A woman in Beverly, Massachusetts, went to the hospital with abdominal pain on Friday and came home with a baby.

Judy Brown gave birth to an eight-pound baby, Carolyn Rose, in an hour. The 47-year-old mother said she had no idea.

Jason Brown, her husband, also said it was all a surprise. The couple has been married for 22 years.

Judy Brown told her local news station WCVB she had felt some stuff going on. She thought she was just moving to the next phase of her life, and there was a tummy bulge which she attributed to becoming just like her mother.

Jason Brown recalled, "We thought this is not normal weight gain. ... It was like, hard. We just thought it was kind of weird. But we didn't think anything of it."

So will the couple have more children?

Jason Brown says they're likely to have a small family. He said, "I will probably get the surgery done before that even becomes a thought! She will be an only child...yes."
