Surveillance video shows hit-and-run crash that killed elderly man on Santa Ana bus bench

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Surveillance video shows the hit-and-run crash that killed a 72-year-old man sitting on bus bench in Santa Ana. Some may find the footage disturbing.

The video shows the driver slamming into a bus bench in the 2300 block of McFadden Avenue Tuesday morning.

An elderly couple was sitting on the bench. They were thrown into the street.

The man, Dien Le, died at a local hospital. His 68-year-old wife was seriously injured but is expected to survive.

Police said the driver stopped and looked at the victims, but sped away without rendering aid.

Investigators are searching for a dark-colored Nissan SUV with front-end damage.
