Suspect sought after attempting to assault woman at Culver City park

CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- Culver City police are searching for a knife-wielding suspect who attempted to assault a woman while she was working out at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook.

The incident occurred at the park located near Jefferson Boulevard and Hetzler Road at about 10 p.m. Monday.

The victim was able to fight the suspect off. She ran down the hill and then called 911. Responding officers searched for the suspect but did not locate him.

He was described as a Hispanic man, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build and high cheekbones. The suspect was last seen wearing shorts and a poncho-style sweatshirt.
