Thousands without power in unincorporated Riverside County

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- More than 20,000 Southern California Edison customers were without power on Friday, the utility said.

SoCal Edison said the outage started around 5:30 a.m. and affected 20,020 people.

The cause of the outage was unknown. Repair crews were aware of the issues, the utility said.

According to the SoCal Edison website, most customers were expected to get power back around noon.

At around 7:45 a.m., the website showed the number of customers affected as 7,512. Power for most residents has since been restored.
