UPLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- A nanny who refuses to leave a family in Upland holed herself up in her car at a police station for hours Friday night.

Diane Stretton thought someone was following her as she was driving, so she went to the Upland Police Department to report it.

Police determined it was a photographer and told her it was OK to go home. Instead, Stretton holed up in her car in the police station parking lot, putting up a windshield cover so she couldn't be photographed.

Stretton sat in her car for hours, not leaving the police station until about 3 a.m. Saturday.

An Upland family is taking legal action to evict Stretton, who was hired to be their live-in nanny, from their home.

The Bracamontes say Stretton has refused to work and won't move out.
