MARINA DEL REY, Calif. (KABC) -- A man's body was found unresponsive with an inflatable boat next to him at the water's edge at Marina del Rey on Monday afternoon.

Los Angeles County lifeguards, firefighters and sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call at 1:44 p.m. in the 5000 block of Ocean Front Walk. Upon arrival, they found a man unresponsive next to a 6 to 8 feet tall inflatable vessel. At least one citizen administered CPR, before firefighters arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead.

Los Angeles sheriff's deputies said it was unclear whether the body washed up to shore or was already on the shore. They are looking into whether the boat had any correlation into the man's death. An investigation was underway.

Anyone with information is asked to call Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
