A dramatic shootout between police in Arizona and a suspect was captured on dashcam video.

TUSCON, Ariz. (KABC) -- Dashcam video captured a dramatic shootout between police in Arizona and a suspect.

Tucson police said the shooting happened after officers attempted to pull over a man on a motorized bicycle just before 8 p.m. on Monday.

Authorities said the suspect tried to flee, eventually crashing the bike and trying to run from officers.

The suspect opened fire on one of the officers, according to officials. Police said the officer fell to the ground after being grazed in the head by a bullet.

Video captured the officer on his back firing at the suspect.

A second officer in his patrol car chased the suspect before getting out the cruiser and running after him.

Authorities said additional gunfire was exchanged. In the video released by the police department, the additional shots could be heard but not seen.

The suspect, later identified as 33 year-old Marcus De La Torre, was shot multiple times.

The officer whose head was grazed by the bullet was treated and released from the hospital. De La Torre was last listed in stable condition.

Authorities stated De La Torre had a lengthy criminal record, including serving time in prison for aggravated assault against Tucson police officers.
