WEST ADAMS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was killed and a woman was injured following a gang-related shooting in Los Angeles' West Adams District.

The shooting took place near Longwood Avenue and Adams Boulevard shortly before midnight.

The injured 50-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The 56-year-old man was shot multiple times and died at a hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. An SUV was towed away from the scene at around 5 a.m.

Also, SWAT officers made an arrest near the intersection of West View and 23rd streets, but it remains unclear if that arrest was related to the West Adams shooting.
