Video shows family driving past North Fire: 'I can feel the heat'
CAJON PASS, Calif. (KABC) -- Unbearable heat pushed into a family's car Friday as they rushed past the flames of a brush fire raging on the 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass.
ABC7 viewer Gabrielle Esposito Mrochek sent in video shot through the windows of her car of the flames burning dangerously close.
Her husband could be heard saying "Go, go, go people," urging other drivers to move faster.
"I can feel the heat," he says.
Fear and relief could be heard in the voice of Morcheck's young son as the car drives past: "Oh, oh! We got past the fire!"
"We were way too close when we went through. It looked like it (the fire) was going to jump the freeway," Mrocheck told Eyewitness News.
The North Fire spread to more than 3,500 acres, devouring homes and vehicles in its wake.
