Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in North Hills

NORTH HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect accused of domestic violence is dead after an officer-involved shooting in North Hills.

Los Angeles police officers responded to a call of an assault of a woman near Parthenia Street and Orion Avenue around 10 p.m. Saturday night, according to the LAPD Mission Division.

Authorities entered the apartment and found the suspect with a woman. Police said the suspect was armed with two knives and an officer-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was hit by gunfire and died at the scene, according to the LAPD.

The woman was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The shooting remained under investigation.
