FULLERTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A part-time wrestling coach at a Fullerton high school has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student.
Last Friday, Fullerton police school resource officers were called to Troy High School around 9 a.m. after being alerted by the school's administration about a possible inappropriate relationship between one of the school's part-time wrestling coaches and a female student.
A school employee had witnessed the coach, identified as 20-year-old Garrett Granger, with a 16-year-old female student in an area of campus that seemed inappropriate for them to be in together at that time, Fullerton police said.
That school employee reported the incident to school administration, which immediately contacted Fullerton police.
Upon investigation, school resource officers determined that Granger had engaged in a sexual relationship with the student within the last few weeks.
Granger, of Fullerton, was arrested for various sex crimes and booked into the Fullerton City Jail, police said.
If you have any information about this case, you're urged to contact Detective L. Garcia at (714) 738-6358. You can also submit anonymous tips by contacting Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1(855) TIP-OCCS.
