EAST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man and police officer suffered minor injuries after an officer-involved shooting took place inside an East Hollywood Walgreens early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said around 12:50 a.m. a customer and manager got into a dispute over a check at a Walgreens near Sunset Boulevard and Western Avenue.

When officer arrived on the scene, they tried to calm the dispute but it led to the two officers fighting with the customer.

"At the point of taking him into custody, the suspect turns around and begins to fight the officers," LAPD Sgt. Frank Preciado said.

Authorities said a shooting between an officer and the customer occurred after the confrontation. The man, who is in his 30s, and the officer both suffered minor graze wounds.

One of the officers sustained a gash above his eye. It was unclear if the other officer sustained any injuries. One officer and the suspect were taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
