MONROVIA, Calif. (KABC) -- A mother bear and her two cubs took over a Monrovia backyard.

Amber Ryan McKenzie said the family of bears frequently visit her home, and while this particular time was a tender moment caught on camera between mother and cubs, she is cautious and keeps her distance, remembering the one time the mother charged at her.

McKenzie watched the scene for more than an hour.

The matriarch gently wrestled with her offspring in the shade of a small tree in her backyard at the north end of Monrovia.
