Southwest Airlines is getting bashed for banning a California woman's pet fish from a flight.
College student Lanice Powless says she was headed home to National City from Denver last week - and a Southwest supervisor wouldn't let her board the flight with her pet fish Cassie.
She says she asked if she could leave Cassie on the counter so a friend could come pick him up, but the supervisor denied her.
Lanice says she gave Cassie to a traveler on another airline, but couldn't get the woman's name. Even after she handed off the fish, she says security followed her around the airport.
She also said she never had a problem flying with Cassie before.
TSA rules allow passengers to bring fish onto flights, but Southwest notes that every airline can also set its own rules.
