Sea lion gives birth on flood control channel in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A sea lion and her newborn are safe after rescuers pulled them from the flood control channel in Long Beach.

Marine Animal Rescue posted a video on Facebook on Sunday saying the sea lion swam up the channel, miles away from the ocean, where she gave birth.

The mom and the baby are now being cared for at a rehabilitation center.
