LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A service dog survived getting caught in an escalator, thanks to a fast-acting police officer at Los Angeles International Airport.

Surveillance video from the airport shows the moment a woman and her dog are riding up an escalator when the dog's paw gets trapped in the top teeth of the moving stairs.

The woman can be seen frantically trying to free the dog, but fails -- that's when an officer rushed in to help.

Together, they were able to free the little guy from the escalator's grip.
