OAK RIDGE, NJ -- We love stories about neighbors helping neighbors, especially when that needy neighbor is a bear.

"Pedals" walks upright because he only has one front paw and the other is permanently injured.

The bear, who lives in New Jersey, cannot run or climb trees. He can't compete with bigger bears for food. Life has been tough for the guy.

He has been living in one Oak Ridge neighborhood for years.

Now, residents have banded together to raise $16,000 on a GoFundMe site to help send him to a bear sanctuary.
