LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles Council President Herb Wesson announced he is launching a bid for a seat on the County Board of Supervisors in 2020.
Wesson made the announcement at a fundraiser Monday.
He is looking to replace Mark Ridley-Thomas, who is vacating his seat due to term limits.
The district Wesson wants to lead stretches from Carson to Culver City and is home to two million people.
