CLEVELAND (KABC) -- Reality star and "The Apprentice" alum Omarosa Manigault spoke with Eyewitness News Wednesday while she attended the Republican National Convention in support of Donald Trump.

The Culver City resident, who was decked out in red, white and blue, said she's known Trump for years and when they're hanging out in private he's funny and kind.

"I just think that people don't see him as a real person, they see him as a caricature, a cartoon character, too," she said. "He's a real person. He has a sense of humor. He's very caring. I just saw him with his grandkids, for instance, and people don't see that side of him or recognize that."

She also said the term racist is thrown around too loosely when people speak of him.
