'We had really heroic work.' LA mayor recaps city's fire response
On the latest edition of Ask the Mayor, Mayor Eric Garcetti talked about city restrictions under red flag alerts and whether there might be a need for more enforcement.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- On the latest edition of Ask the Mayor, Mayor Eric Garcetti talked about city restrictions under red flag alerts and whether there might be a need for more enforcement.

He appeared on the program directly from the city's fire command. A cause for Bel Air's Skirball and Tujunga's Creek fires had not yet been determined.

The mayor also answered viewer questions, including the ongoing struggle with the city's cost of living.

A viewer said apartment owners are facing excessive new fees under the city's revised trash hauling regulations. The mayor said that shouldn't be happening.

Another viewer said the city's construction projects are causing traffic jams with heavy equipment blocking streets.
