INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- The Metropolitan Water District transformed the king-sized doughnut on the roof of Randy's Donuts in Inglewood Tuesday into a red faucet knob to help spread their campaign's water-saving message.
The landmark bakery's new look was unveiled during a ceremony Tuesday morning, and will remain for the next few weeks.
"It's all about saving water, it's all about taking your turn to save water. There are many things you can do as an individual and we really encourage the public to do their share," said Metropolitan Water District Director Gloria Gray.
As part of the educational event, every person that pledges to conserve water between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. will receive a complimentary doughnut.
Randy's Donuts is located at 805 W. Manchester Boulevard. For more information on the campaign, visit http://www.bewaterwise.com.
