A suspect has been taken into custody after suspicious packages were found in multiple locations this week, authorities say.

At least 12 packages are being investigated after they were found in New York City, Washington, D.C., Florida and elsewhere.

TIMELINE: Suspicious packages found in New York, D.C., elsewhere

The most recent packages were confirmed as connected to the case on Friday morning. One was addressed to Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and was recovered in Florida. The other, recovered in Midtown Manhattan, was addressed to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
