SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A vacant single-family home that erupted in flames early Monday morning in San Bernardino was being investigated as possible arson.

Firefighters received a call around 1:06 a.m. near 13th Street and Berkeley Avenue and found the home fully engulfed in the blaze, threatening nearby homes.

The blaze was knocked down within 25 minutes and arson investigators were called to the scene. Authorities believe the fire may be arson because the blaze spread quickly through the empty house and transient activity has been reported in the area.

This is the second time firefighters have responded to the home within the last few months, according to San Bernardino Fire Department officials.

Witnesses were asked to call (909) 384-5388 and ask for special investigation bureau arson investigators to provide information.
