Pedestrian fatally struck by Amtrak train in San Clemente

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- A pedestrian was fatally struck by an Amtrak train, just south of North Beach, in San Clemente Sunday afternoon. Orange County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death as an apparent suicide.



The incident was reported in the 1900 block of Avenida Estacion at 2:59 p.m.



Metrolink service was temporarily affected. They announced the delays on Twitter.



Orange County Line 664 to Oceanside was stopped at Laguna Niguel. Inland Empire-Orange County Line 858 to San Bernardino was stopped outside of Oceanside.



On Saturday afternoon, fitness model Greg Plitt was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in Burbank.



Both incidents remain under investigation.
