SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities are searching for an armed robbery suspect who was seen chasing a Santa Ana liquor store clerk through the store before making off with possibly $2,000 in cash.

A call came in around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday regarding a robbery in the 2400 block of West Edinger Avenue. At least one employee was in the store and surveillance video showed the clerk at the front counter moments before the robbery.

The video shows the armed suspect enter through the front of the store, try to rip the register from the counter and then chase the clerk through the store.

The suspect was able to make off with between $1,500 and $2,000 cash.

Authorities said the suspect remains on the loose and it was unclear if he fled on foot or in a vehicle.

Just two hours before this robbery, police said an armed suspect also stormed into JJ's Liquor in Fullerton around 10 p.m. That suspect also demanded cash before bolting out of the store.
