Super blue blood moon glows over Southern California
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southlanders were up early to watch the super blue blood moon, which gave SoCal a celestial glow early Wednesday morning.
The moon took on several different looks as it went through the three stages of lunar trifecta: super moon, blue moon and a blood moon. This triple event last happened 150 years ago.

It's a super moon because it's bigger than usual, it's a blue moon because it's the second super full moon this month, and it's called a blood moon because of the color it turns during the eclipse.
A large crowd of excited sky-gazers were up early to watch the event from the Griffith Observatory. They came for a show, and Mother Nature did not disappoint.
Andrea Lopez was one of thousands who packed the observatory. She arrived at 3 a.m. and said it was well worth the trip.

Fellow moon enthusiast Saba Guvi joined the crowd around 4 a.m. and called it "an amazing experience."
"It has really good energy so you set your intentions," Guvi said. "Just the whole vibe is really good."
The weather Wednesday morning was clear, making for perfect viewing conditions from Southern California.
From start to finish, the super blue blood moon put on a fantastic show. If you missed it, you may have another chance to catch the next event, which will happen again in 19 years.
