Sexual battery suspect arrested after tense Hollywood search
A suspect wanted for sexual battery was arrested after a search that left two officers injured in Hollywood.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect wanted for sexual battery was arrested after a search that left two officers injured in Hollywood.

Around 9:30 p.m., Los Angeles police were in a foot chase with the suspect in the 6200 block of De Longpre Avenue. At one point, the suspect turned around and punched one of the officers.

Another officer tried to scale a fence during the chase and may have fractured his leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

The suspected battery happened near Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street. Los Angeles police said the officers searched for the suspect and found him at a nearby Starbucks, which led to the foot pursuit.

A perimeter was set up and the suspect was eventually taken into custody after being tased and bitten by a K-9.

Neighbors said they heard the commotion outside. They were not allowed back into their home while officers investigated the scene.
