Large shark sighting prompts San Clemente Pier, beach closure

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- San Clemente lifeguards closed the pier and beach area Wednesday after witnesses said a 10-foot shark was spotted in the waters.

Lifeguards said the closure will be until 7 p.m. then an advisory will be issued for the waters around the pier.

About 10 people said they saw the shark at the end of the San Clemente Pier and estimated it to be about 10 feet long.
