Goodwill 'Boo-tique' offers new, gently used Halloween costumes
The Goodwill provides a 'Boo-tique' with new and gently used costumes for sale during the Halloween season.

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- The Goodwill provides a "Boo-tique" with new and gently used costumes for sale during the Halloween season, providing aisles of props and racks filled with costume ideas.

Each store is budget-friendly and offers many costume choices. All you need is a little imagination.

You can keep it retro with a pink poodle skirt, go with the 60s "Mad Men" style, or dress like Jackie O. The fellas can keep it classic with a G.I. Joe or Dracula costume.

The items at the Goodwill are gently used and some are even brand new.

"You can pick up current designs or retro looks for less and the nice thing about it is if you want to be creative you can shred it, you can dye it, you can cut it," said Steve Barr, director of contacts and environmental services for Goodwill Southern California.

Children can explore and piece together storybook costumes that no one else will have in class, and they can find their favorite heroes right off the rack.

"It is like a one stop shop. Again, you get to be whoever you want to be. It's the great thing about it - it's not predetermined. You can come in and just get inspired," Barr said.

Another bonus for shopping at the Goodwill is that every purchase made helps support the store's surrounding community.

"We provide opportunities for people with disadvantages and disabilities to find employment, and also we divert millions of material from [entering] landfills," Barr said.
