DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Hundreds of volunteers spent part of their Christmas day at The Midnight Mission in downtown Los Angeles, hosting a brunch for those living on Skid Row.

Thanks to Santa's village at the event, about 2,000 underserved kids got their wish with plenty of toys, stuffed animals, games and even musical instruments.

About 300 volunteers assisted the kids with their gifts and fed families in need with warm meals for the special holiday.
