ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- A chandelier broke out in flames at Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim Friday, where rapper Snoop Dogg was set to celebrate his birthday.

The fire happened around 11:30 p.m. at the 300 block of Katella Avenue, but was extinguished before fire authorities arrived.

The event was canceled after sprinklers at the nightclub put out the fire, and nearly 600 attendants were forced to evacuate.

The nightclub owner said a make-up show is expected to be scheduled.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
