Body of Christopher Roybal, veteran killed in Vegas shooting, to be brought back to SoCal

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- The body of Christopher Roybal, one of the Southern California residents killed in the Las Vegas attack, will be brought back home Monday.

Christopher Roybal, 28, of Corona, was a military veteran and had previously served in Afghanistan.

He was celebrating his birthday when he was shot and killed during the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Oct. 1. A gunman identified as Stephen Paddock, 64, opened fire on concertgoers from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

Roybal was with his mother at the concert, but they were separated in the chaos. She identified his body the next day.

The veteran's remains are scheduled to arrive at Ontario Airport at 3:40 p.m. A procession will follow as his casket is taken to Thomas Miller Mortuary in Corona.
